I know you'll never get the chance to read this but I often think about the things I wish I could say to you or all the things I want to tell you. So instead, I'll write you a letter for others to read, to help them remember that we are only on this Earth for a short period of time and we need to appreciate the ones we have in our lives.
I'm so sorry that I didn't help you more and that I caused you so much extra stress. I'm so sorry that I thought you were being dramatic or overreacting about the seriousness of your cancer, I just never thought I'd lose you. I was a selfish teenager that only thought of herself and in my young mind I didn't think that anything bad could happen in my life. I'm sorry I didn't tell you I love you more often and when I actually did I wish I would have said it more meaningfully. Most of all, I'm so sorry for being angry at you for leaving me and at God for taking you away from me.
It's been years since you've been gone and I worry that I'm forgetting little things about you and that's one of my worst fears, but then I remember you will always be a part of me and all I have to do is look within myself to find you. You were the rock of our family and although many times we fell, we always got back up and you would be so proud of how close we all are now and how far we've come.
I miss you everyday but I'm so grateful to have the friends and family I do that help me get through each day and keep me staying positive.
We all miss and love you dearly, thanks for watching over us. 💓
"I still miss those I loved who are no longer with
me but I find I am grateful for having loved them. The gratitude has
finally conquered the loss."

ReplyDelete“So the little prince tamed the fox. And when the hour of his departure drew near.
“Ah,” said the fox, “I shall cry.”
“It is your own fault,” said the little prince. “I never wished you any sort of harm, but you wanted me to tame you...”
“Yes, that is so,” said the fox.
“But now you are going to cry!” said the little prince.
“Yes, that is so,” said the fox.
“Then it has done you no good at all!”
“It has done me good,” said the fox, “because of the color of the wheat fields.”
